Joel Stone’s “red house”

Joel Stone built two houses in Gananoque, Ontario. The first known as the yellow house was a single story log home. The second was a two story frame home known as the red house. Neither still stands on their original location. The yellow house burned in 1850. The red house was taken down and rebuilt in another location. I stumbled on the information that this rebuild was done by John Beatty in 1852 so I went looking on Ancestry to see if I could find him. I found an interesting family to research but I am not sure if I found the John Beatty who rebuilt the red house. It is quite possible he rebuilt the house but it seems unlikely he ever lived in it.
