Halstead Bay on a summer Sunday morning.

This morning for the first time of the summer my morning dog walk was at Halstead Bay.  I was delight to see I was not the only one enjoying it today.  At the east end of the park, there was a family fishing at the bottom of one of the steep paths to the shore and another swimming.

A fat chipmunk sat waiting to beg treats in the west end parking area. A yellow swallowtail butterfly, fluttered around the old growth oaks on the gently sloping path to water. A couple was sitting on the rock outcrop peacefully enjoying the sun, breeze and the view of the St. Lawrence River and its 1000 Islands. Turq, my beagle enjoyed the same area and checked out Mermaid Rock on the granite ridge that turns into a shoal.

One last treat was in store for me. As we pulled onto the Parkway this is what we saw.img_3718.jpg
