Gananoque Canoe Club

Gananoque Canoe Club at 175 South Street, is #18 on the Town of Gananoque’s self guided tour. Its description there reads:
“Built in 1909 to utilize its waterfront location as the Gananoque Canoe and Motor Boat Club, It hosted local, provincial and national paddling regattas. It was purchased and converted to the 1000 Islands Playhouse in 1984 and features live theater six months of the year.”
(Copies of the tour are available at the Gananoque and 1000 Island Visitor Centre, 10 King East.)

Some additional interesting facts about the Gananoque Canoe Club:
– The Canoe Club was a public club and a project of the Gananoque Rotary Club.
– The Canoe Club continues to operate but now from a building on Adelaide St.
