This artwork is one of 150 murals which all have a railway theme that make up the Canada Mosaic Murals created as part of the celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday in 2017. Although each community painting remains in the town or city where it was created, they are part of one mural virtually connected to other community murals.
For Gananoque’s 150 Mosaic Mural four hundred residents painted tiles, two hundred of them of them local students. The tiles represent the community from their own creative perspective. Every tile is a story and a piece of a larger artwork and story. Our larger story speaks of the islands, boating, TIR, and Charlie Donevan of Donevan’s Hardware.
